Duplicated Posts

There seems to be an epidemic of duplicated posts around at the moment, in a number of sections. One has four threads running at once! Can't HQ sort this ongoing problem out, or at least try and merge the threads, or close duplicates down with an explanation? Even if the cause is beyond curing, it at least needs managing so that duplicates are not left to go on and on. Come on HQ, give FB a rest for a while, and show some dedication to this forum! A twice daily check would help!

I think some are more champions than mods, but still it would be good to see some of the champions get involved in some of the discussions as well, might well stop some of the convoluted threads on UK sites etcsurprised

Duplicate posts are a successful ploy by the IT staff to ensure that posts stay at a respectable rate!

They were trying for two duplicates on each post but sadly got the coding slightly wrong....still, they are not perfect.wink

Defending a cause can be stretched to indicate a 'Champion' but surely it can't be stretched far enough to include CC staff members?

Many do a very good job and often get thanked...and as a bonus they even get paid for it!surprisedsealed

David thanks for your reply, I know the review section is not in your remit. The problem is more obvious when you view the website via latest activity (which is my main choice.) I often read the reviews because I see them on there, these are often CLs which are new to me. I now wonder if they are only being monitored when spotted on line later by a site owner or the club. However multiple repeat reviews are a regular occurrence.

When I press reply on here I normally see a blue highlighter round the reply tab. The tab turns from green to grey. This is not always an indicator that the post has gone through, sometimes it fails or there is a long delay.

Regarding your second paragraph.

All this would probably be lost on someone with a colour deficiency problem like myself.  And there are quite a lot of us around!

Not only duplicate posts. The CC are also sending out duplicate alerts saying the new mag is ready on the app.

i have just caused a duplicate post (cycling info) and this is what happened....

i was typing but, before i finished, the post decided to 'post itself' (i dont think i touched the add thread button)....

so, as i hadnt finished, i edited the existing post to add the remainder of the post....i then updated this.

when i checked, we nlw had two posts exactly the same.

so, a clue for the IT chaps ......if theyre interested....

On both of them your-'use other post' request is there BBfrown it could be a quiet thread. More info for cycling is a good idea mindsmile

BB

As the post seemed mainly about France I have moved to Overseas, as I thought it would be useful to people going to France. I noticed the small postscript at the bottom about Club sites which perhaps would be better posted as a separate thread?
