Cannot leave a review for CL using iPad!

Just wasted an hour attempting  to leave reviews for CL's that we have recently stayed at.  Also problems in general accessing most things on CC website with iPad

it appears that iPads are not CC compatible.  Shame, as when we are away we are more likely to have the iPad rather than a laptop.

Come on CC - it's not rocket science and iPads have been around for a while,  when will you get your act together?

Write your comments here...I have just found out why my iPad-written reviews have always failed.  Being retired i always leave the "good for families " rating empty.  When I hit "submit", I get "please wait " followed by "submit" again.  What I can't see is the little red error message insisting that I rate suitability for families.  Time and time again I have abandoned my attempt to leave a review.  Today I noticed the message, gave a meaningless rating and successfully left a review for the first time ever!  Maybe that is Shirley's problem too.

I agree that the star rating on individual items is flawed, as each is so subjective. In the case of good for families, are you rating the site or the area  of the site? On a recent review for Balitic Wharf I would have given site good for families 1, as no play area and a very restricted site, but area of site good for families 5. I personally think they should do away with them, except for perhaps an overall rating.

However, in the CC's defence, it does very clearly state that they are required fields. Unfortunately error messages being off the bottom of the screen is not unusual on many sites and not specific to the iPad.

Write your comments here.Firstly, we are the Caravan Club, us members, not the people who run it on our behalf.

Secondly, those fields marked "required" need not be.  To make "good for families" a required field is plain daft.

Thirdly, the error message appears next to the offending absent stars, out of sight above the "submit" button, whereas the display remains set on the "submit" button, giving no indication of any problem.

overall, our web site is excellent.  I have a lot of time for the team, but these things are easy to fix and should be fixed.  Of course what the team do is set by management, not by the guys at the sharp end.

As I said, it clearly states required field. Therefore if you don't fill it in it should not come as a surprise that it does not accept your review.

Thanks for all the replies.  It seems like it's not all iPads that have the problem.  I'm using an iPad Pro running the latest ios 10.1.1

Timeout is an issue with the CC website, so I typed my review in a pages document then pasted it immediately after I had logged on to prevent this happening

When at home, I often have to resort to the MacBook when browsing or looking for CL's by map as the results on the iPad are so unusable, this is very limiting when we are away and want to look up future sites to visit

I have now successfully used my Macbook to leave a review for a CL  Did exactly the same process as I tried previously with the iPad

There is not a "good for families" rating on the review page for CL's  Simply five boxes to rate various aspects of the site on a scale of 1 to 5 stars, all are required fields:

Required fields are denoted with a *

It really about time our web team came to terms with iPads.  They are our team.  We, the members, are the club.  Maybe we should call an EGM to authorise our elected council to purchase an iPad for the IT team so they can test our systems on iPads as well as Windows PCs.

Ha, Ha, that would be an interesting and probably very long and arduous meeting Laughing

Seriously though, iPads have been around for years are here to stay, why can't the CC keep up?

I hear some of you are saying that it appears that not all iPads seem to have the problems with the CC website that I have experienced, so if this is the case maybe its the CC not updating their systems adequately?

Shirley

The Club have accepted that the software used by this site is not compatible with all elements of Apple products and they have said that the new software making them work will be a main priority. However we have been waiting a long time for this software/forum update.
