Things we like about the CMC

Without a doubt the best is  the Excellent Head Office staff who answer the telephones. So professional, polite and helpful.--- The CMC sites are all of a similar standard, described as "good".----- The public lavatories and public showers on - site are cleaned to a "very good" standard, as are the water taps, chemical disposal area and drains.  ------------ Head office has produced a excellent set of on- site rules to enable everybody to have a relaxing and safe holiday. --- There lies the challenge. ---- If those rules were enforced, there would never ever be any forum posts from disappointed customers advising of breaches of those rules spoiling their enjoyment. Unfortunately there are a fair number as seen on the forum.

So on the whole the CMC is a good retailer of goods and services, only one blip in their reputation.  IMHO, a blip which could be easily fixed.

cool

I agree entirely  Alan, thats why we caravan the way we do but I do have to dispel this myth  about "club standards" particularly as its quoted so often by those with no other experiance. The clubs model is pretty unique and it suits very many people but the negative aspects of it as I mentioned to Micky do sometime show up in part at what could otherwise be splendid sites. Earlier on this current trip we visited a site in the most incredible  natural souroundings but aspects of it management bore a resemblence to the less favourable  aspects of "club world " lots of rules unfortunately  not enforced, closure of sanitary  blocks for cleaning and more,  consequently  we left early and wont return. We all have our own preference of where we spend our time  and for us its not club sites or those trying to ape its practices.

And that is fine, you have your preferences and others have theirs. But what you keep on doing, with all respect, is keep posting, many, many, many, many times on the UK section how better it is over there. Overtherepostitis I have called it. You cannot seem to help it?

I don't post on over there section how brilliant it is over here. I will simply assume that is your preference. However you will not concede that for those that go on club sites they are very very good.

An example of this is given in this post you state   I do have to dispel this myth about "club standards"

Ah, but maybe the "proposed" £10 CC-lite membership would still include access to the forum (on the cheap obviously!)

Something to look forward to?  undecided

Over regulated ( but under enforced), overcrowded and over priced.

Whilst some club sites can be pricey during school holidays but then so can over there sites.  40 euros+/night in some places and what the advocates of all things 'over there' forget is the add on's.

On our recent 3 week trip over there our add on's totalled £652.95 before a wheel turned.   That's for ferries and breakdown/insurance. So not us be quite so disingenuous in these discussions.

Well K,

You're usual trolling posts having a dig at the "onsite workers", good one.

It'll be a pity if this forum goes to members only, I'll miss your entertainmentwink

Truth hurts does it. ----  An honest post which praises the CMC is obviously unacceptable in your eyes. ---- Offering a suggestion for improving the one small area which lets the otherwise good CMC reputation down is NOT having a go at anybody.  You obviously failed to read the opening post properly, or you would have seen how I praised the work of the on- site staff. smile

If at some time, the Forum becomes open only to customers who have paid their £51.00 annual fee --- so be it ----- most of us are members of other forums anyway--- If you feel so strongly about non  paid up customers posting on the open forum and want it stopped,   why don' t you take your proposal  to the next AGM. smile

Until then there is absolutely no restriction, so long as the forum rules are adhered to.  smile

cool

Your thread is not parsing the club and its staff, its nothing more than a cynical dig at it?

If you really had an interest in its success and future you would be a paid up member and contributing to  its future.
