Posted on 08/06/2020 21:05 by Justin BricknellHi all
As stated previously, although I work in the Club's IS Dept, I'm not directly involved in the operational day to day maintenance of the website.
However, I can give you a few brief updates on some of the recent website outages...
Several of these have been related to an upgrade/migration of the content indexing tool that deals with, among other things, the Club Together section of the website. This migration forms part of a bigger piece of work to upgrade the CMS (Content Management System), which should ultimately be more stable when complete.
Earlier today, the performance of the website was affected by one of our web database servers "running hot" (maxing out on CPU). This was rectified by a restart of the affected server.
I do not monitor the Club Together forums as part of my role. Therefore, I can't always reply to any responses to my posts in a timely manner... but I do try to check in on them, and reply, as and when I can
Regards
Justin

Thanks for posting, its lovely to know that someone does look at CT, hopefully this thread in particular ๐, so making comments here maybe worthwhile.
I have to agree with the other positive posts this morning it does seem to be working much better than it was - although that wasn't overly difficult ๐คฃ๐คฃ
Keep up the good work, keep checking CT and reporting our observations to whom it may concern - for action ๐and stay safe.

Posted on 09/06/2020 08:10 by SteveLSeems to be working a lot better this morning. Let's hope the sticking plaster holds.๐คPerhaps they just need bigger CPU's in their servers.๐

I'm sure that'll be looked at when we upgrade to the new CMS. It was mentioned in one of the technical calls last night; the servers were spec'd out for the original website upgrade in 2016.... obviously things have moved on since then.

Posted on 09/06/2020 06:07 by Justin BricknellLooks like I spoke too soon!
However, a further fix at 11.06pm last night seems to have fixed the issue :-)

Posted on 09/06/2020 08:59 by huskydogSame here ,I had to retype my e-mail and it let me in , I thought at first I had been banned

Seems it's not just me with the email issue. I've been using it that way on auto fill for years and hadn't even realised it was stored with an incorrect upper case letter. CT must have become case sensitive.
Banned? It never entered my head. My conscience is clear ๐
