Sorry if there's already a thread on this subject, I have looked but can't find one.

I'm looking into buying a power inverter but would like to know just how much it will drain the battery compared to using 12v equivilents. e.g. if I have a 30 watt, 240v TV running off the battery via a power inverter, how much would it drain the battery compared to a similar 12v TV running straight off the battery?

I have seen a 2000w power inverter selling for around £225 with reviews saying it easily runs microwaves, toasters etc but I'm a bit concerned my battery will be dead by afternoon even with a 50 watt solar panel to keep it topped up.
