We have only been caravanners since January and so far we haven't bought anything useless yet (well, I don't think so but SWMBO might think otherwise 
).
So come on, own up and tell us what item or bit of equipment which at the time seemed such a good buy for the van but is now gathering dust or simply turned out to be useless
