Grass grids

We are moving house soon and will need to create a caravan parking area on a piece of lawn. Ideas have ranged over paving ( expensive Rolls Royce solution I have at my present home), gravel, tarmac and now, leaving it on the grass. I'm not too concerned about the grass under the van dying back since it wont be a very visible area when we are away in the caravan but I do want to be able to move the van on and off the lawn without wearing tracks or bogging down.

To help to keep everything flat and negotiable I have been investigaing the use of grass grids. These are mostly rigid plastic honeycombed patterned load bearing sheets a few centimetres deep, by half a metre square laid into the surface of the grass to reinforce the area where the main wheels and jockey wheel travels. I'd probably use a couple of paving slabs for the wheel parking spots.

Has anyone used this system? If so I'd be pleased to hear how diffficult it was to lay and whether it is any good.
