Do you know what your dogs get up to

when you are away from your van?

This isn't an anti-dog thread, as the dogs have no choice BUT

whilst away this weekend - the van next door had 3 dogs, two Jack Russells and a labrador. The owners went out during the evening around 9ish (down to the clubhouse we think) and we were in our van as had caught a bit of sun and thought we'd watch a bit of Eurovision. The dogs started howling almost straight away and carried on doing so, with the additional rounds of barking in unison until the owners came back from the bar at around midnight. The dogs obviously thought they were competing with Englebert as we could hear them over the tv for all of the night. We went to bed at around 11.30, but the noise was just too much.

Then the owners came back around midnight, and quite noisily shouting to other vanners let the dogs out. The dogs then ran off, and so ensued much shouting and calling to the dogs at high volume for about 10 minutes. Noise carries so much in the dead of night but this was ridiculous - I'm just glad I didn't have children with me who needed to get to sleep.

My question is - would you be offended if another vanner told you that your dogs had howled all evening. I didn't, as wasn't sure of the reception. Would you even leave your dogs in the van alone? We haven't come across this before, but we normally don't use commercial sites, but mainly CL's where most vanners seem to take their dogs with them.
