Convenience Cleaning or Inconvenient Cleaning?

I know some people will see this as warden bashing and I can hear the tar steadily coming to the boil and feathers been gathered as I type but….

Why, when you have to vacate your pitch by 12.00 noon are the toilets closed for cleaning between 10.30 and 12.00.

I was on a CC site at the weekend, we’d actually booked the Sunday as well with the intention of leaving either on Sunday teatime or early Monday morning so the inconvenience on this occasion didn’t really effect us as much as those leaving before 12 but still it just seems silly to me.

On Sunday morning Buster woke me up at about 8.45am wanting a wee, Buster is the dog by the way and not my weak bladdered partner. I took Buster to the dog walk, and on return I made myself a nice cup of coffee. After a short while I cycled the ½ mile to the papershop for the Sunday’s (there are no papers delivered to this site) and upon return fired up the Cadac and cooked two full English. This was followed by a nice cuppa and a relaxed browse through the papers as one is entitled to do on one of their precious days off.  A very short time later my digestive system then politely suggested it was time for morning ablutions which I would then follow with a nice refreshing morning shower.

But no it was now 10.25 am and there wouldn’t be time. The Gents would be closed for cleaning between 10.30am and 11.30am and the Ladies would be shut between 10.30am and 12.00 noon!

Is this really the best time to do this and why does it take so long! I know there is a toilet for ‘Emergencies’ which is basically the one disabled loo which is now the only loo available to all campers. I also know our modern van as all the mod cons but like many, but not all, I don’t like to use them for number two’s and I prefer to shower in the toilet block, that’s just the way I and many like me are.

It may be claimed that it is so all the wardens are available for the rush of arrivals at noon but the rush doesn’t last that long. By 13.00 the rush had gone. One warden could have dealt with reception and 3 could have cleaned. Not many want a shower upon arrival but many fancy a relaxed morning shower and etc before departure.

I do think, in my own small humble opinion, that schedules should be more to do with member convenience rather than warden convenience.

Discuss, but please be polite I’m not just warden bashing, honest!Innocent
