"Club" membership and CT

When the Caravan Club instigated this forum I think that they envisaged that it would act as a focus for members to both pass on useful information about our hobby and as a vehicle for discussing points of interest, with the added bonus of it being a way of advertising the Club to the wider caravanning population. At the start the vast majority of those that posted were club members, however over the intervening year the numbers that post on a regular basis has dramatically declined, and now many of those regulars who continue to post are no longer members of the club. Is this a reflection of the popularity of the club itself and that many past members are leaving, perhaps exacerbated by the "Club's" attitude to its members and the problems many are currently having with the new booking system.

I have no problems at all with non club members being members of CT and I can't see why it should matter. Unit it was remarked upon I never gave it a second thought. If someone wants to register and be part of CT then that is it.

Opinions are opinions, help is help, posts are posts and being a member of the club doesn't make any of those better in any way, or more valid or have extra 'points' or should be listened to more.

You can ask all sorts of questions like that, how many post, how many read only, how many use just the social area, how many are only looking for technical or hobby related help, how many only post in UK section, how many only post in UK section. That’s just numbers really.

The real questions, those of value, and those that might give Nellie a few indicators to his opening thoughts are more around why, or why not folks post/don’t post where they do.  That would give a template for any changes to CT, if required. But social media trends change constantly anyway.

It would be interesting to know the percentage of members that post on CT out of all the members

So, there's around 385,000 members at present, how many new names do you see posting lately. After the rebrand and more recently the new booking system there were a whole bunch of new posters, how many use this forum now as read only? I like to take part to give info where I can, join in with some banter etc but I know there's hundreds who only look in. Shame reallyundecided

No problem in asking it, Husky, but whether the answer will be of interest is another matter 🤣
