Caravan upholstery

I would love to ask 'What do you think about the lump that most caravan manufacturers put on the seats, just under your knee'.  I feel they make the seats uncomfy, the beds more difficult to make up, are ugly and the beds uneven.  What do you think?  I have written to manufacturers who say I am alone in this but I have noticed some are taking it on board - the new massive Bailey, the leather option in Lunar, the Conqueror and Dunster but I would like to see it in light, cheaper caravans.  Surely it will also cut a few gram off the weight.  Am I alone?
