Hi,  We are looking at buying the Cadac Safari Chef 2 but as it looks quite low we are wondering if we need to stand it on a table.  Has anyone done the same if so what type of table would you recommend as it would need to be sturdy and foldable for storing in MH.

I find mine a good height to use from chair but if I wished to stand up to cook (happy to sit!). Then a good caravan type table or maybe one of those with adjustable legs mentioned in other posts.  There wouldn't be a problem with heat damage as the legs take care of that.

Yes, it is quite short and we tend to use it on a table.  It also has a relatively small cooking area.  Good for 2 but not for lots.

We're very happy with ours apart from the burner being difficult to adjust.  It takes some practice.

Yes I am surprised by the burner control knob and have cut a little notch on the button to help.  Since it's a high end bit of kit I would have expected a little more finesse on the burner control!  I wonder if the rivals are better?

We also put ours on a table to use it, we have a small briefcase type one that opens out to double its size. The legs have 3 different height adjustments we use this table a lot while away as its so handy.

Agree about the flame control knob, I though the new ones were better thoughundecided I have used marker pen on mine to give me high, med and low flame.

Personally I think carri chef 2 is better option size wise. But it's personal preference

I agree.  It packs away to a modest size and you just take the grill parts that you want.

These are a great BBQ ideal for two I just sit down with a chair which has a little flip up table on the side to hold my drinkies .... what more do you want.

We use the carri chef as the actual Chef prefers to cook standing up.

Its so good we have the larger one set up at home!
