Booking ahead is unfair at some sites

Hi everyone,

Not sure if it’s just me but since starting caravan life I have found one site which is busy most of the time and this site is chatsworth park. What is frustrating is you can book space here well in advance but noticed that people release their booked space indicating that they only booked in case they want to go. Maybe a small deposit would stop the crazy booking system.

but my point was PD was trying to apply his thinking for all, if he wasn't then that's fine.

I read  it as a statement made by him,  that they were high enough already. Surely a personal point of view. Nothing about that others should think the same.

Well I read it differently to your good self.  I'm sure PD could clear it up if he wanted to?

Going a bit OT with prices though so I'll bow out now. smile

Surely a personal point of view.

Is that not true of the majority of posts on here? I am certainly frequently reminded of it! Some may align to views posted others not.

you mean they are plenty high enough already for you? I think they are fine and I assume all those who have booked?

btw by next Easter do you mean this Easter wink

+1, I am willing to pay for a good service & good sites, everything is going up due to inflationary pressures. I’m not a fan of driving service costs down as standards too are driven down including wages & that is never a good thing🙁

I find that a contradiction, I personally never buy anything I think is too high or when I get get a similar product at a better price but your choice as it should be.

Well I think I pay over the odds for council tax, to name but one that I don’t really have any control over. However, my point was that I think it is totally possible to think the price of something is too high, but be prepared to pay it. The two things are not mutually exclusive.

My council tax rises every year by 5%+ but I can’t fault the ERYCC, they are even fighting against oil & gas exploration rather than rolling over & taking money👍🏻

I don’t think anyone would ever say the site fees aren’t high enough as it’s second nature for most folk to want to pay as little as they can.

Not for me it isn't but when I pay higher than normal prices and by that I mean over about £20 a night I like to think there is something special about the site and with the exception of Hillhead (visited this year) I struggle to think of a club site that falls into the category. I have a couple of CAMC site nights booked for the spring trip but its only one night the place is very convenient and I am not about to go searching for somewhere a bit cheaper but at £30 they are way overpriced

That’ll be why I said "most".👍🏻

Rocky, I thought inflation went up as prices rose, not the other way around?

It’s a moot point tbh-inflation leads to rising prices/rising prices lead to(further) inflation & so it continues-they are comfortable bed fellows👍🏻

isn't it a bit of a merry go round and/or which came first sort of thing?

Higher inflation causes workers to ask/demand higher wages, this can be achieved by products having higher prices which leads to higher inflation which...

Also there are other factors such has higher taxes, increases in the price of raw materials which fuel the above.
