Adaptors

I have been thinking about the way I use the extention lead in the caravan to get power into my awning. I put it through the window and hang it into the awning which is really not ideal as it uses up a socket in the caravan.

I dont want to cut into the wall of the caravan to put a mains socket outside. So what I am thinking of is adding a flylead to the main power supply cable where it plugs into the caravan and have a socket on that. I thought of an adator but I would not be able to close the box and as it has the battery in there aswell there is a security risk.

It would only be supplying power for the kettle and possibly a toaster. I would like some advice from members who have either done this or advice as to why I should not do it. Thanks everyone.
