I have long been sceptical about Facebook however.....Yesterday I was about to go inside for lunch when my daughter called in great distress she had lost one of her dogs. She hasn't been divorced all that long and they are her "family". Three Black labs, two sisters and daughter to one, all descended from the line my grandfather started before I was born. She had taken them for a walk a few miles from home between her gardening jobs with another dog staying with her. She had got home opened the van door and found she was one short. Not clever but of course she goes to search and also calling friends for help. One to get on Facebook and post her missing on the local village page and me to call her local vets etc 320 miles from me! Busy Devon lanes were the worry. I was busy on my landline with the vets when my mobile bleeped a message "found". A lovely lady had been going home for lunch and seen the dog trotting up the road searching, she opened her car door and in hops the dog. She took a picture and posts it on the village Facebook page just as the friend was putting on the missing notice!
It wasn't clever of my girl but we all make mistakes when rushed off our feet. I left her brother at home once! Those dogs are so close even at home I have had to look twice to count them on their bed! The youngest lies on top of her Aunt! I have picked up dogs like that so perhaps it was a case of "what goes round...."
So lucky and Thank you Facebook!
