At 7.30 this morning our beloved Border Collie /Spaniel cross, Frodo passed away after several weeks of trying to fight this terrible infection despite the stirling efforts of our vet. Lungworm also known as French heartworm is spreading further north in the UK each year, it is contracted by dogs eating or licking items subject to slug or snail slime, dogs will sometimes eat slugs. We don't wish others to go through our anguish  so please make sure your dogs are safe. Frodo really loved caravaning and it is some comfort to us that he had a wonderful time at Minehead CC site last week, despite showing good signs of recovery he went downhill very quickly Sunday afternoon.
