Welcome to all Dog lovers & generally Canine minded Folk. I have started this to enable a Thread to be used-in the Pet section with a title 'I love Dogs' so there will be no problems with attracting the right Posters, and the 'wrong Posters' give it a swerverCool. I am mainly a working Dog Lover, I have had-J/Russells, Retrievers, Lurchers. Currently have 2 White Cockapoo's. Mum & Daughter. Not my kind of Dogs(at first) the OH fell in love with the Breed a year after losing the Retriever. Now I couldn't imagine life without them. You either love Dogs or don't, if you do then life without them really is empty. I feel for the none Dog Folk, not knowing the joys of owning Dogs. But I'm not stupid enough to believe just because I love em everyone should. So if you would like to talk Canine, please be my guestSmile

Had to say goodbye to my lovely pointer two days ago, 13yrs 7mths, he developed ?spelling  Larangyl paralysis...where the lungs can't open properly to breath, he was the most beautiful boy and an excellent working dog, I'm heart broken, he was so special. My other dog keeps looking for him which is also so upsetting.

I’m so sorry to hear that, OL. Many of us know how you feel and how hard it is to get used to that space in your life.

It’s been a very Quiet summer on the East Coast, the heat had affected all wildlife in this area. Today it came alive. Young un, Her Mum & me had a beaut walk in the cool(13c) air & fields. It was a full sun that rose into a blue cloudless sky. No stifling heat or high humidity today. Barely a breeze, heavy dew on the growing meadow, wellies having to be worn, the smell of turned fields that the plough had rent as it prepared for next year’s crop. The 3 of us had a spring in our step, what a glorious start to the day. We saw a Roe Deer doe at a distance with this year’s Kid trying to feed as She gently skipped away. I’d love it to be the heavily pregnant Doe I saw in Spring but the truth is I just don’t know. The Dogs were happy to walk just behind me nudging my legs as they walked. We sat on an old stump to just drink in the beauty & atmosphere of the early morning. This is the first time we’ve had this feeling for months as it’s just been too warm for close contact. My Dogs are happy, I’m happy, the Countryside is gorgeous in it’s returned normality. On the way back I caught a glimpse of a Roe Buck at a distance scooting off giving a light bark, the rut is nearly upon us. Time moves on. Have a great day.

Great to see another tale of the morning walk from you Rocky. Thanks for that.

That was a grand sighting of the deer and her young and I’m imagining you sat on the tree stump with your dogs just enjoying the peace and beauty of the morning. I bet one of you had a grin on your face😊

Thanks Tinny, I had the grin👍🏻, the Dogs had the ‘back to normal at last’ snoring😂. It’s been a slow Summer, I didn’t even go out in the Countryside some weeks, it was straight to the near coast for the lower temps. I know most folk love the hot Summers but me & the Dogs suffer☹️

I've thought about this statement for some considerable  time. The statement that 'you either love or hate them' may need some consideration. I reckon now that the issue is really not a dichotomy as suggested. Don't get me wrong I'm a dog lover but there probably exists a very large and substantial group of people who are neither log lovers or dog haters, some may even be ambivalent towards them. They are just dog tolerant until dogs/dog owner actions impact upon thier lives. Surely it is up to us dog owners and dog lovers to ensure these folk remain on our 'side'. Surely by adopting the very best actions to uphold best practice as far as pet ownership is concerned we can all mostly live in harmony .

you either love or hate them“. Try as I might, Micky, I’ve been unable to find that statement. Perhaps you can show me where I’m missing it. However, I can find “You either love Dogs or don't....” which is a very sentiment.
