Welcome to all Dog lovers & generally Canine minded Folk. I have started this to enable a Thread to be used-in the Pet section with a title 'I love Dogs' so there will be no problems with attracting the right Posters, and the 'wrong Posters' give it a swerverCool. I am mainly a working Dog Lover, I have had-J/Russells, Retrievers, Lurchers. Currently have 2 White Cockapoo's. Mum & Daughter. Not my kind of Dogs(at first) the OH fell in love with the Breed a year after losing the Retriever. Now I couldn't imagine life without them. You either love Dogs or don't, if you do then life without them really is empty. I feel for the none Dog Folk, not knowing the joys of owning Dogs. But I'm not stupid enough to believe just because I love em everyone should. So if you would like to talk Canine, please be my guestSmile

We are now into the year 2017, the sun came up & it will go down, the moon was in the sky, the beautiful Trees are still here & my awe inspiring landscape was as beguiling as ever. Years move on but the endearing beauty of our Countryside & it's wildlife don't change. My Dogs were with me as we stepped out for another ramble in the East Yorkshire landscape, twas ever thus. Life just can't get any better than this. It seems Young un & Her Mum agree, they both scooted across the meadow on this fine January morning. The sun had just peeped above the horizon & chased away the peaches & pinks it had painted on the underside of the scudding clouds. Summer is ok, Spring is good but Autumn & winter are spectacular. The Dogs bounded back to me & jumped up for an ear rub, some folk don't like Dogs to jump up, me? I positively encourage it, I love the closeness I feel to them both as they lay their bodies along my legs enjoying the closeness we share. Then they're off again. I shared their 10minutes of craziness as they bounded around jumping over each other, racing around in complete abandon, a pleasure to see them so happy. We skirted the copse & headed due East towards the coast, the most I saw was the rear end of a Deer as it slipped into a distant wood, that & a little Jenny Wren as it skulked in the understory of a hedge, that's the way it goes, right time & right place does not always happen as this morning proved. It was no less a walk for that mind. The North Sea is alive & well I could hear it's roar as it crashed on the beach driven on a storm out to sea. We turned North at the Horse paddocks, no Horses again, over an irrigation channel & West to home. As I got to my home sat above the ivy clad arch was a single Robin singing out His mournful fluting Winter song, a fitting end to a wonderful walk. The dearth of wildlife is not uncommon at this time of the year, late Summer is the same as the wildlife hide from the heat. The time that comes with a guarantee for wildlife spotting is Spring. Enjoy your day.

Great afternoon walk with the dog, over fields and by the small river. The wee lad had a fantastic time exploring.  The sun was setting as we were nearing home and we were privileged to see one of the best sunsets ever.

As a matter of interest "Go Outdoors"  in Coatbridge is dog friendly. It's close to The Strathclyde Park CC site and there is plenty of parking for motorhomes.  We spent some time there earlier there today and the staff were great. Water and dog treats in abundance.

Cheers...................K

Yes, me too. A nice long tale of a frosty morning with wildlife aplenty.

Have a good one, Mucker.cool

Today was a joy to the senses, Overcast, cold but beautiful for that. Both Dogs happy in their landscape again, no frost but a chill wind suggesting differently. There'll be no discernible sunrise this morning, the light is Autumnal. It has a sense of beauty about it, all the vegetation is asleep awaiting the coming Spring, Trees barren but have a natural serenity about them as they too await the growing light levels to start an awakening. The 3 of us were fair bouncing with enjoyment. I've been told the Badger sett has seen some spring cleaning by a friend, I walked over to near it but not within the small valley created within a disused ditch the Badgers are using. It was there to see, new diggings, a trail of old bedding as it was dragged from within the sleeping chamber. They are certainly fastidious are Badgers. I also found evidence why Brock has the nickname-'little Bear of the woods' on an old dead log from years ago I saw fresh claw marks in the surface, they looked quite deep from a distance too. All the while I spent looking around the periphery of the sett Young un & Her Mum were sat next to me on their leashes just waiting for me to move on & release them, no bother to me or the wildlife-I love Dogs me. We soon set off home, they bounded off into the distance putting up a Covey of Partridges, 7 I counted, their wings sounded like whistles as they beat so fast it was hard to see them. Oddly they only flew about 200metres before landing again. Not that it bothered my 2, they took no notice of them other than the initial heads up. When the weather improves I've been invited to a 'night watch' of the Badgers as they will be more active as food becomes more abundant, without Young un & Her Mum obviously. I'll look forward to that. Enjoy your day.
