Don't read this while you are eating

I hope this is going to have a happy ending.  

About 10:30 this morning Daughter picks the cat up and notices that there is blood on the end of tail.  

Closer inspection shows that while the tail is the normal length all the fur and skin has been ripped of the last inch of it. I mean all that was left was the bone, I did warn you. 

So Daughter and wife rush off to the vets with cat.  4 hours latter the cat is back.  I'm £130 lighter and the cat is half a tail lighter.  He is currently confined to the dogs cage with a anti scratch cone arround his neck and feeling very sorry  for himself. Haven't got a clue who he did it but he was ok at 8 this morning.
