Dogs and Inflatable awnings

Hello everyone.  We are in the process of ordering our first caravan and will be looking for an awning.  I wondered if anyone with dogs had an inflatable awning and if these are ok when you have animals.  Anyone any experience...whilst asking we are also hoping to get a boat next year and wondered if inflatables were robust enough for dogs or should we be looking at plastic.  Any experiences would be useful.  We have a four year old Spanish Water Dog by the way and alot of buying the caravan is to take him away with us.
