Dog owners - what would you have done?

I booked our 14 month old Patterdale Terrier for his first hand strip at a local groomer this morning.

I arrived at the house and she greeted me at the door when I rang the bell.

She took the lead off me and said "It's going to be £23.  Come back at 11.30am.  What's his name?".

I told her his name is Baz and asked if I could come in and see her facilities.

"No.  I'm not insured for people coming in.  You don't have to leave him you know".

I took the lead straight off her and took him home.

I called another groomer and told them about my experience and they were horrified that someone would expect me to leave him without at least seeing the grooming room.

Would you have done the same or am I being too soft?
