Disgust or sympathy

reported this week of an airline pilot who stole there neighbours dog strangled it drowned it put it in a black bag and left in in a hedgerow, then went back later to remove is I D chip and take the body else where 

His defence was he was driven to dispare by the neighbours dog constantly  barking, now according to another report he has been shown a great deal of sympathy as many constantly have to put up with a yaping dog to the point of blowing ones top 

so sympathy / discugust
