Caravanning with cats

We have just inherited a cat (long story) and we already have two Yorkies that go everywhere with us. The cat doesn't go out and we are thinking of taking it with us when we go out in the van, but we are not sure what will happen. Do any of you take cats with you on your trips out and do you have any experiences/tips that you could pass on please?
