Caravaning with 3 dogs

We are very new to caravaning & have yet to venture out with our dogs. Had a half hearted seach for sites allowing dogs and am coming across restrictions to one or two dogs. Is it difficult to find a site happy to take 3? Are they allowed to sleep in the awning? Or are we being unrealistic?

Also how often do you come across cats on site?
