We have just got back from a weekend at Southport where tha annual air show took place. There were many fine displays on both Saturday and Sunday by the likes of The Red Arrows and the eurofighter Typhoon plus many others Happy but two flights were particularly touching. The Vulcan which is being grounded for financial reasons Sad did a very graceful performance. Now i.ve been to many airshows in my time but as the picture below shows its the first time i have ever seen two Lancaster Bombers flying in formation in the same show. These two planes are the only two airworthy examples left in the world. It will also be the last time as one of the planes is being grounded (not sure why) and the other is returning to its base in Canada so we were very lucky to see the very last formation flight of these iconic planes HappyA rare treat indeed.
