Sewing on the Go?

Has anyone taken their sewing machine with them in their caravan? I have an overlocker and a sewing machine and am seriously considering taking them with me on a long tour.

I have an embroidery machine as well but the weight ratio may well be compromised if I take that smile

I haven't thus far. But doesn't mean I wouldn't if I wanted to do some while I was away. I do usually take some knitting however.

My mum always often used to take her sewing machine caravanning - I think it used to travel in the car.

If you have space for it I'd take it, something to do on quiet days or when it's raining outside, on a long tour it's nice to do the things you enjoy. I take sewing or knitting sometimes, a box of drawing and painting stuff too. I don't always use them but like to have them with me.smile

Funny the OP should ask this question, when we arrived on a site in Orange 2 weeks ago there was a Dutch lady sat outside under her canopy at a large table with her sewing machine. It chugged away for most of the afternoon, not sure what she was making but she was certainly busy. I've not taken my machine away but I always have some knitting or crochet with me. When I find something I like I will be bringing some embroidery next time.

Seen lots of folks doing their hobbies while away, including sewing machines. Just be aware of machine weight, but go for it I say👍
