I have just upgraded two Macbook Pros from Maverick to Yosemittee operating system (free upgrade) and found that the speed of our fibre optic link immediately dropped by a third or more. After a lot of research I found that having the bluetooth connection on the laptops activated was to blame. You need bluetooth for items like the Mac mouse etc to work. As soon as I switch bluetooth off the speed of down loading jumps by about 10mbs which is quite significant. Apparently Apple have known about it for 4 months and no word of a fix yet. You might want to test your macs - it is a simple click and re click on the bluetooth tab in the top right to switch on and off.
