Best reads - Club Together Book Club?

I'm just about coming to the end of Deborah Moggach’s book, Heartbreak Hotel. I found it a very enjoyable read and very amusing. But what should I read next? Any recommendations?

I also wondered if anyone would be interested in a Club Together book club? According to a member survey earlier last year, reading is the most recurring leisure activity whilst caravanning. I know I’m a book worm and I’m sure there’s a few of us out there who enjoy a good read. Anyone interested or any suggestions?

Mrs WN must have read most of Paul Doherty's output, N1805. Bit gruesome in places but then again the period he writes about was.

Just finishing a Robert Goddard book, This is the Night they come for you".  Well written as usual and a splendid one off. Helps if you know a little of the relationship between France and Algeria.

Just a quick notification, the first of Caro Ramsey's Anderson and Costello series, based in Glasgow, Absolution, is free for today only on Kindle. I can thoroughly recommend the whole series.

I noticed that yesterday as well Nellie,

M W Craven's The Botanist is on for £0.99 on Amazon Kindle today, his latest outing for Washington Poe and Tilly Bradshaw. I see he has a new character coming out next year in a book titled "Fearless". Keep an eye out for it.

I’ve recently discovered the books of TM Logan and found the three I’ve read have been gripping to the end. They are all stand alone novels rather than a series.

The Holiday is currently in Prime Reading free to read to Prime subscribers.

For Nellie and other fans of Phil Rickman's "Merrily Watkins" series, the latest edition "Fever of the World" is just out and I managed to get a copy at our local library yesterday.  smile

Edit - TW, we're also fans of TM Logan, his latest is "The Curfew" which is a good read. I've just finished an older one "Trust Me" which I thought just a little far fetched but entertaining anyway.

Another series I like is Tim Weaver's "David Raker" books. He specialises in tracking down missing people and gets himself into some very sticky situations before, obviously, overcoming them. The series needs to be read in sequence really, can't just remember what the first one was called though easily googleable! wink

I’ve got Trust Me but not read it yet, M. I’ve not got The Curfew yet though.

Thumbs up to Damien Boyd's detective story, As the Crow Flies. I read it with trepidation as it's based on climbing (my son and grandson like climbing so I try not to think about it too much!) Anyway I enjoyed it, starting off in Cheddar Gorge and many places familiar to me in Somerset it was a good read. Ordered two more in the series, new turned out to be cheaper than secondhand this time round. smile

Good. Glad you enjoyed it, Brue. I’ve read them all now except the latest, Carnival Blues. I think we can guess at the setting of that one!
