April  starts  the  season  of  'Osprey  hunting'    for  me .

So  off  to  RSPB  Loch  Garten,  on-line  of  course,  and  the  sites  up, just  about,  but  no  Ospreys  as  yet.

So  over  to  Scottish  Wildlife Trusts  "Loch  of  The  Lowes"  Website  and,  and    Surprised  not  one  but  two  Ospreys  &  mating  in  full  view  of  the  cameras  !  Its  not  the  aged  "Lady"  but  a  new  female  now  in  residence,  so  we'll  have  to  see  if  the  old  girl  turns  up  at  all.  Well  she  is  believed  to  be  in  the  high  twenties  now,  darn  near  Geriatric  as  far  as  Ospreys  go !  I  understand  Rutland  has  a  number  of  arrivals   so  I  must  keep  watching  Loch  Garten  for  more  tales  of  Bad Bird  Behaviour  !!

BBC Cumbria T.V. news has a report of Ospreys and eggs at the Foulshaw Moss nest this week  !!

Yes they're back, with the female Blue 35 arriving on 26th March. I can't see that there are likely to be eggs yet though. I'll have a look on the web cam tomorrow, if I remember.

Had a look tonight on the web cam and there certainly doesn't appear to be any eggs there. The one bird on the nest was looking round all the time, but I couldn't identify the ring markings.

ABM, reading the latest news from Cumbria Wildlife Trust the male partner of Blue 35, White YW arrived on the 27th a day after his mate. I've only seen one on the nest at any given time, but only look in occasionally.

If anyone wants to see great photos and short videos of the Ospreys at the various nesting sites throughout the country since they started to arrive back this year go to :-

community.rspb.org.uk/placestovisit

Then select one of the osprey location and from there you can keep picking different nesting sites.

Could someone please make the connection live as I'm unable to on my Kindle, thanks.

That's great, brue, thanks. From that page one can access lots of other osprey sites, the links are down the right hand side.

Have found another fascinating link :- kielderospreys.wordpress.com

It shows the daily track taken by one of their osprey, 7L/Aln, as she makes her way north from when she left France on the 11th April. All very interesting.

Help again needed with the link please brue, if  you don't mind. Thanks.
