It is reported that this particular pod became distressed as a female giving birth got into difficulties and they all subsequently stranded.. 

Yup not great, but this looks like an act of nature rather than pollution or whatever, but i hear what you are saying, i remember being in the Med during the sixties when the sea was teeming with Dolphins now you are lucky if you see half a dozen.
