Lucky Red Squirrel

Driving in Ireland last week (hire car, not towing) we were enjoying the countryside.  Suddenly a red squirrel ran in front of us, I braked but too late, the car went over it.  I waited fot the crunch but there was nothing.  The rear view mirror showed nothing.  The lucky little b had got away unscathed.  The strange thing was that there were no trees nearby so what the squirrel was doing there is a mystery.  Glad it got away though - I see enough roadkill at home in Norfolk.
