Congratulations to Welshman Geraint Thomas on winning the TdF.  The first Welshman to win and the third Brit to win since 2012.  What an achievement guys.

Couldn't agree more, OP. Not only the first Welshman to win the tour but also the first Brit and the first Yellow Jersey wearer to win the stage to the top of the Alpe D'Huez!!!

I wonder if a friend of yesteryear is now eating his pilot's helmet?wink

Don't forget all his Olympic and World Championship medals, mainly Gold, as well! He is a cycling superstar very much in the Wiggins, Froome mould. Be interesting to see what happens now, can Sky go with two leaders or not? Moving to another team just doesn't cut the mustard for either really, as no other team operates like Sky! Just ask Richie Porte!smile

I wonder if he'll be Sky's front man for the Giro next year, now that as Froome haswon it once he may not want to try it again. I think that he, Froome, is more suited to the Vuelta.

Do think Froome with change his approach and centre the whole of the forthcoming year with the TdF in mind.

Perhaps now that GT won the tour this year that some of the French crowd may not give him a hard time.

I doubt a small bit of the French crowd will let up on Froome or any of the Sky riders, no matter who they are. Past history seems to indicate they detest anyone not a French winner.......ask Eddy Merckx. He was punched repeatedly in kidneys in 1975!

I wonder who, if anybody, will / can replace Froome in the TdF this year  ( 2019 ) after his nose blowing accident  ??
