Tour de France

Well, the Criterium du Dauphine is over and Chris Froome won it again. In the past, this has led to him winning the biggest of the Grand Tours.

So it's time to place your bets.

I'm going to get in early and go for someone who avoided the Dauphine and, as is the (sad) custom of today the Giro, as preparation for LeTour.

I'm going for Nairo Quintana.

I believe that no Columbian has won the Tour before (although several stages have been won by them). He isn't the greatest of time triallers, but I'm going to chose him anyway.

Any more takers?

Yes put him down for me, don't tell him tho, he will probably fall off in a freak never to be repeated way if my usual result of backing someone ensues.

We've just worked out that we will be in Aubignan (Nr Carpentras) when they do the Mt Ventoux leg of the Tour de France.  That's the theory anyway - providing the car is fixed!! Undecided

We've a campsite booked in Bedoin for that stage. Will look out for you in your beautiful new 'van, it's July 14th, Bastille bank holiday so expect it will be rather busy.

Yes I know it's Bastille day, so we're expecting it to be really busy with that and the Tour.  We've booked Le Bregoux again.
