Lovely to see that at long last Tom Daley, and his diving partner Matty Lee, have won a Gold Medal. I am sure he was thinking of his Dad who sadly died a few years ago.

One of our hopes for an athletics medal, DA-S, failed to live up to expectations, due to an injury it seems. I think that we will struggle to win any medals on the track now.

I worry that the British press (mainly TV) build up some of these athletes so much that when they don't perform we are all disappointed which seems unfair. Looking at the competition from Jamaica with three possible champions it was going to be a big ask? It seems that many of those Brits that have won Golds seem to have done so against the odds or perhaps were unexpected. If we keep our expectations low key we may be pleasantly surprised?

BMX riders have done it againπŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘ A gold and a bronze, superb skills from such young riders. I am enjoying these new additions to the Olympic sports, they might not be classic sports, but they do require a huge degree of athleticism, co ordination and bravery. I hope they get the funding they deserve now, they have certainly delivered. It all starts in the velodrome as well today........

Some tremendous performances and medal winning in these last few days. Brilliant for Women’s Madison and Modern Pentathlon, and the new skateboarding event.πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

Just watched the Women’s Madison from start to finish, absolute master class in cycle racing, head, shoulders and tactics way beyond every other team.  They were both astonishing to be honest.

Great results for both 4x100 relay teams as well in Athletics StadiumπŸ‘πŸ‘

But imagine how gutted the men's team must feel having been beaten by just 0.1 secs. Great show though, and the ladies did well too. So glad that Laura Muir got a medal at last, she ran a great race.

Didn't the other Laura and Katie show them all now to race. Practising with the young guys certainly paid off. Mustn't forget Kate French's good in the pentathlon, even if the poor German got a very uncooperative horse for the jumping phase.

Superb MP Gold. I half felt sorry for the German women, but felt a whole lot sorrier for the horse! She boobed by not choosing the reserve horse sadly. Trust me, they know everything that is going on on their backs! Devastating to have it happen in full view of the World though, it was a shocker of an experience.

It seems that the horse had done similar before with another competitor, so why the German lass didn't choose the reserve is a bit of a mystery!

I think that might have been the German woman’s problem. She had seen it misbehave, that sets up tension that transmits to the horse, and then it just becomes a cycle. Booting it in the ribs and cracking it with a whip didn’t help?
Our horse always knew who was riding him, with me he was “oh it’s her, this will be slow and boring, I had better just go with it” With OH “ yahoo, this is going to be exciting, hope he’s up for a gallop and a fight”

He knew I wasn’t strong enough to be fully in control, I had to really learn to relax and keep calm. OH just enjoyed the danger! πŸ˜‚
