Ask anyone what our national sport is and most will probably say football or cricket.
What dictates a countries sport, is it the number of participants, the number of spectators or the amount of success at that sport?
Maybe with our recent success at the Olympics ours should be cycling, rowing or gymnastics.
What do you think?

I don't think we have a national sport to be honest. Football, cricket and rugby get all the hype, but then they are hugely underpinned by massive money as well, or at least the male sections are! Those three are probably top of the spectator league as well.
But what is so wonderful now is that both males and females can take part in just so many more less mainstream sports. Some require a bit of expenditure, such as equestrian sports, but others are relatively cheap to get into, with classes and sessions at local sports centres and clubs, at all levels. And walking of course costs very little!
