How's your footy team doing?

I'm starting this thread again because it seems to have been a casualty of the change over to the new site. The Terriers scecured another away win last night at Burton. Two wins in a row now after a barren spell. It'll all go pear shaped on Friday when we go to Norwich because the game is to be televised , we haven't won on the telly for ages.

Yes, adding my congrats to Papgeno, splendid 3 points!

City won again, not the best of performances but the conditions were pretty grim.

Keep the faith, footie fans everywhere 😊

Norwich finally got their season going after a bad start. Now 7 games without a loss and reached the play off places.  Best of all we beat the Tractor boys on Sunday.laughing

Thanks both. What a game, played in atrocious weather in front of a full house. The atmosphere  in the John Smith's was phenomenal , when the away team score the crowd usually goes a little bit quiet, when Man U scored our support got even louder to really get behind the team for what we knew would be a tense 20 minutes.

Talking of supporters. A number of Town supporters have cycled over various routes for the past eight years to raise money for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance and the Town Foundation which provides free breakfast for thousands of school children each day.

This year they are cycling in France and Belgium over four days and 280 odd miles in a route called The Last Goal Post. This will commemorate the six Town players killed in action in World War 1. The route will visit the last resting place of these chaps one of whom was the first professional footballer to be killed in action.

To put a perspective on this the cyclists are paying £250 to take part and must guarantee £750 minimum in sponsorship. The event was sold out within a couple of days! The club chairman has taken part in every one of these events.

That's a side to football that doesn't always get the publicity it deserves.

Papgeno, read a lovely report about a young Town fan who found a fiver at the match. I know it wasn't your grandson, but I can imagine him doing exactly the same 😊

No goals, but a great game at City last night. Extra time and penalties, good value for £10, but no good for the nerves.

And The Wolves! Very good team, I know it's early in the season, but can't see them missing out on automatic promotion. Good luck to their very vocal fans, they certainly outsung our lot last night.

Keep the faith all.....⚽️

Well another reality check . Just goes to show you can't expect to defend for 90 minutes and get anything from the game. I just watched a MOTD  report on Town's breakfast clubs which said the club had served  800,000 breakfasts free to local schools since 2012.

Well, Rovers are free to concentrate on a good league run now! embarassed

Mind you, after two years being knocked out by non league teams, I suppose losing to the League 2  leaders is progress!  sealed
