How's your footy team doing?

I'm starting this thread again because it seems to have been a casualty of the change over to the new site. The Terriers scecured another away win last night at Burton. Two wins in a row now after a barren spell. It'll all go pear shaped on Friday when we go to Norwich because the game is to be televised , we haven't won on the telly for ages.

What a start to a season. Very good win against Port Vale in some cup match with a strange name, but any win is good all players ran for the ball and defended each other if things got a bit fractious.MOT

The Terriers are looking like the United Nations. We've just signed a Belgian striker to go with our five Germans, one Bermuda, one Dutchman, one Serbian and one Australian.

I guess that's what being in the Greedy league means. Exciting times UTT

Well done Terriers! Great highlights on MOTD - a superb start to the season.

My Premier Division newbies, the Seagulls, had a tough time with Man City but they (City!) are tipped to win the league so not such a bad result all in all.

I believe that you meant that sincerely Steve and I wish your lot a good season too. I've just read today that Burnley are bidding for Chris Wood so I hope you've got another goal scorer up your sleeves.

Spriddler the Terriers had a far easier first game than the Seagulls so I wouldn't be too disheartened.

I'm looking forward to our first home game on Sunday against the Toon. The stadium is sold out and all the work required to meet Premier League and Sky TV conditions should be completed. All the best for the new season your club and supporters are always well respected up here in't North.

Looks like he's on his way to Burnley Steve. A rumour going round DATM ( Town fans forum) is that your lot are interested in Nakhi Wells.

Yes papgeno, they're finding it tough. Our hitherto dependable defence is struggling with the speed and reactions of Premier strikers and wing-backs.

Even so, last season in t' Championship they had an average gate of 28,000 at home which was more than 7 teams in the Premiership. Poor Bournemouth had only 10,000 at home yesterday (about their average gate) and Burnley only 19k. Still, in t' Premiership it's T.V. and sponsorship deals that bring in the dosh, not punters' gate money.

Your Terriers were also averaging over 20k last season which was more than 5 of the Premiership teams. Good luck this afternoon against Toon!

Our gate yesterday was one person short of the record which was set last season in the cup against Man City.

The place was buzzing and I've never heard so much noise in the ground. Unfortunately some of the bar code readers which are used to scan tickets weren't working and some of those that worked were slower than this forum, yes that slow! So some pretty big queues built up particularly with those who always leave it to the last minute.

The match was tight and settled by a cracking goal.

Rotherham on Wednesday and Southampton on Saturday, can't wait.

Phew, I can come out of hiding at last! wink

After a bit of a dodgy start, Rovers have finally found their feet with 3 good wins in 8 days, including away at Fulham in whatever the League Cup is called these days. Looks like Darrell has made some good additions to the squad over summer so things are looking good at the moment ( possibly until Tuesday anyway!)
