I'm sure everyone will be glued to it (what with all the 'cycling hysteria' that the popular press go on about) but in case anyone missed it, stage 8 has just finished.

Still leading is Alberto Contador, by a narrow margin of 4 seconds over Fabio Aru and 22 seconds over Richie Porte.

Contador fell in a sprint finish at the end of stage 6 and dislocated his shoulder. That would probably require a 3 month break for the average footballer. But Contador is a cyclist and did stage 7 the next day (168 miles) and stage 8 today (116 miles - including winning an intermediate sprint).

He's a little guy, but he has huge balls!

Another 13 stages to go!
