He's no 2 in the world , he has done wonders for tennis in Britain ,and his home town of Dunblane in Scotland , it was well deserved imho well done Andy , and well done Davis cup team , all we need now is a title in the new year honours lists
I have just googled the results against Federer and Djokovic for 2015
Federer 2 -0 against Murrray
Djokovic 6 -1 against Murray
I rest my case

Write your comments here...how many times was Hamilton beat on the track this year still no1 how many times has GB golfers been beaten but still at the top , if you think it was undeserved for Murray to win that's fine , but it's also fine for me and others
on this thread to think it was well deserved , so I also rest my case

Don't you need a personality to win 'Sports Personality of the Year?'
It has, for many years now, been a sports ACHIEVEMENT of the year competition rather than PERSONALITY of the year. How else would you explain such charismatic figures as Princess Anne, Nigel Mansell and Chris Boardman winning. On that basis, it was a worthy victory although not my personal choice.

Andy was a worthy winner.
But for me the high spot of the entire evening was Lizzy Jones singing Danny Boy with the picture of her late husband rounding off the section on those we'd lost this year. I have to admit it left this tough guy and rugby league fan blubbing!
Thank you for the mention of the song by Lizzy Jones, M !!
Checked out the song on Yahoo & found several sports-folk mentioned whose 'passing' I had sadly missed not the least of which was Rosalind Rowe, Table Tennis . After my "Victor Barna" named bat ( every body had one of them ) I had a "Rosalind Rowe" bat == served me well for ages .
