Received our free YouView box from TalkTalk a while ago. After a slight delay waiting for the powerline adaptors to connect to the router to arrive, it's now up and working.

Initially, the picture was rubbish and kept scrolling across the screen. Rang TalkTalk helpline and a very nice Indian lady suggested connecting it to the TV using the HDMI cable instead of a SCART cable (I didn't realise we even had a HDMI socket on the TV because it's not high def - turns out there are four of them!).

So now it's up and running and we can get catch-up TV and 7 free satellite programmes (not the exciting ones Sad).

However, we can also add other satellite programmes for one month periods, which might be useful - example £15 for one month subscription to Sky Movies might be handy over Christmas?

Now all I need to do it to work out how to tranfer recordings from the box onto DVD's for taking away on holidays........
