What's the weather like in Cornwall today?

I think there will be a lot of people going overseas next year after the weather in the last two or three weeks here in Cornwall. Maybe it will improve.

Think we will be reverting back to over there for our summer holiday.  Weather hasn't totally spoiled our time here but we haven't been able to do all we would like to do.

It's not been so bad today as it has been lately. It was very windy but at least it didn't rain for once and it was fairly warm out of the wind.

The trouble with St Agnes is that it's high up and catches the storms - It's not called St Agnes Beacon for nothing!

You'll be fine Charlie - just watch out for traffic jams. The A30 between Carland and Chiverton was queued for several miles this morning. have a good trip. smile

And don't eat too many hedgehog ice creams at the Chapel Porth cafe! Wish I was strolling down there just now, I always look out for the Giant Bolster footprint on the way down. wink

Taken from the Beacon, with the site in view, overlooking St Ives Bay .

I read somewhere the other day, that Shetland had more sunshine than Cornwall in July.😯

Apparently happens about every 11 years. Also they have a minimum of 2 hours longer of daylight than Cornwall so that can affect the figures 😉. You must compare like with like and there was no comparison on temperatures 😂. Figures can't lie and liars can't figure as my dad, an accountant, used to say 😲

Out of interest last night on BBC East weather they showed August to often be the wettest month in East Anglia with the spring months the driest. I've forgotten actual measurements but even our wet August is a small number 😉.

Plenty to see and do over this side of the country- very diverse 😂.

I've copied the above from what you up to today thread for more coverage 😉

Thank you for all your comments. We are are still going on Sunday but we are not taking the awning. Such a beautiful place and lots to see in the area.

It's a lovely day today, Charlie, and no wind either. You'll do well if it's like this. Enjoy your holiday. laughing
