What's in a name ??

On TV the female reading the weather is generally referred to as "The Weather Girl"  ---- BUT---- when a male reads the weather he is referred to as "The Weather Man"

Now that we are in the age of equality, should there not be gender equality in descriptive names. ?

If they are to say "The weather Girl", then her male colleague should correctly be referred to as "The Weather Boy".

Conversely if they refer to "The Weather Man" his female colleague should correctly be referred to as "The Weather Woman" .

I don't see why women should be treated as less important or mature than their male colleagues.

You must be scraping the bottom of the barrel 'K' for something to moan about, only you could pick up on something as meaningless as this Frown The weather is read by anyone, by any name, dress, skirt or trousers, what does it matter as long as they tell us the weather. You read into things that are not there and is a reason why we have a complete breakdown caused by PC.

Good post, Dave.

It's the weekend silliness again.

On our telly, BBC Breakfast usually say something like "here's Carol with the weather"

On Sky - same as above but substitute Naz for Carol.

Have you got any examples of what is upsetting you so much Kennine?

Cheers

Bugs

What's wrong with a bit of light hearted fun -- If anybodydoesn't want to take part - Dont.- simple as that..

Fun is never meaningless.

Your final paragraph is not fun 'K'

"I don't see why women should be treated as less important or mature than their male colleagues."

That is a serious issue, its only your writings previous to that in bold that is 'zzzzzzz' hilarity.

I'm sure a Mod will move it into Fun and Trivia if that was your intention.

On our TV you can only see them from the waist up ,so they could be wearing nothing from the waist downSurprised
