What would you like to have been up to today

Ok, so we have the Fantacy Tour section and let's face it none of us are really up to much. So what would we like to be doing today Here goes -  Lovely day so we are off to NT Hidcote Gardens, in the Cotswolds. Strangely there is hardly anyone here (I can't think why) firstly we walk through the beautiful gardens where all the plants are bursting into life. Then through the wooded part, where the trees are covered in tiny spring green leaves and the blue bells are just coming out. On to the open space where we can see right across the Cotswold hills. The young lambs are calling to their mothers as they then run to suckle. On to the vegetable garden, where the volunteers are planting out young vegetables from the greenhouse. Now off to the tea garden, we might even have cake today as they have slices of Victoria Sponge that are calorie free!

Well likely as not going to our preferred watering hole for a small drink and big chat, then home for a BBQ as weather is lovely. Then planning where we would meet up with Grandson on his DOE Gold practice expedition next weekend followed by our ferry to France on the 4th June.

As it is, we will be visiting mother in law to meet community nurse and discuss ongoing care.

Did consider BBQ, as weather is lovely, but have decided to take a walk along the shore at Hannafore in Looe and get fish and chips from Coddy Shack.

Oh, and if you think the sea is warm TDA you really are dreaming!

It’s cold in May, June, but we regularly swim in July, August and especially September. 😁 Harder getting in round you, we used to climb down to Lantic Beach, sit on a rock and let the sea bash us into the water! Easier and less screaming than trying to wade in, especially at various body parts! Sandy beaches are a lot easier, if it’s hot, the tide just comes in, takes heat from sand, and away you go😂

No wetsuits either. We are used to open water swimming, done Dartmoor rivers. Coldest ever was a loch in Scotland, even we didn’t last long in there!🥶

Hi TDA, well you would have had plenty of company yesterday as the car park for Lantics was full and there were probably a dozen boats just off the beach as well.

One of our neighbours goes for a dip every day, and we have certainly had the wether to tempt people, but it was very sad to hear the news last night of two deaths and one critically ill off the beaches.

Ironically we recently cycled the Camel Trail and I was explaining to my Grandson what a sand bar was and mentioned that Doom Bar, the Sharps beer, was named after the sand bar at Padstow where I belive one of the incidents took place.

One other was apparently at Treyarnon Bay which is a favourite of ours and has great surf attracting many visitors.

Now I'm really upset 😂😂

We should be at Altnahara until Sunday. Weather forecast is for sun with temperatures of 25 / 22C from tomorrow.

I don't believe it.😖
