I think ours have been left as we are not near an official gritted route, there are only two bins in the village but luckily we are near one. Never been near or seen one in other places we have lived so maybe this is unusual?
Brr, what a thought, hope we don't need them too soon!

After yesterday's grey miserable day, today is lovely sunny and bright.
Waited in all day yesterday for 2 big parcels to be delivered (furniture) which didn't turn up. Called this morning to delivery company, got passed from pillar to post to be told that they are coming today now. No apology or explanation.
Starting to get the house back into some kind of order now, will be better once the new carpet goes down in the attic room then we can put everything back that is scattered around the house.
I've managed to make the lounge and dinning room look a bit christmassy, not going overboard this year as none of the children/grandchildren are paying a visit.
We don't have a Homebase anymore either but we do have salt/grit bins all over the village, we live on a hill so there are plenty on our road. OH went and got a few bucket fulls a few weeks ago. We've already had the snow plough round for the pavements.
I'm busy designing and making a memory book for Mum for her Christmas, why do I leave things until the last minute still haven't got anything for OH. Food for Christmas all bought apart from perishables.

I have had a busy few days like everyone else. I was on Welcomer duty at the Cathedral yesterday and the big excitement was that Jonathon Foyle came in with his mother to have a look round. He is such a lovely man. He has recently written a great book about the Cathedral and his mother lives locally. She actually remembered that I had sat next to her and had a chat when Jonathon Foyle gave a talk in the Cathedral about the medieval ceiling last year! Poor lady was in a wheelchair as she has recently fallen and broken her hip. I have had computer troubles today but lovely SIL has just been round and sorted it out. 😊
