Helen, I think (sometimes) that I might have missed Trevors shingles attack. I bet he wishes the same. Nasty thing, shingles. Had them and would gladly give them away. Hope he's recovering. (If I haven't missed it and already given my sympathies then please feel free to give them to a deserving cause).

Sniffles are afoot in the Wherenext household. I'm walking around disinfecting door handles, teacups and burning anything MIL touches. Left her dinner on a tray outside her room and hightailed it back to the kitchen. Packing her off with Mrs WN on Monday. In the meantime this hygiene mask stays on.

The Countdown has begun! These coming days seem to go faster than any other weeks in the year. I've no Advent calendar - but I've loaded my Christmas Playlist onto our music system.

If you've never heard this one from Chris Difford - click the link and listen to the words. Always apt.

Not see or heard that one before, Goldie. Thanks for sharing.

Glad to hear that feeling better Helen, and that Trevor is recovering from the Shingles...nasty stuff them.

Don't you be giving any nasty bugs to OH or her mum before they go on their trip, WN.

The only countdown we're doing is towards the day we head off in the van again...just 10 more days!

So glad you are beginning to feel better Helen. Take care and don't do too much just yet. I hope you enjoy your next trip away - where are you of to?

I spent the morning in Stamford meeting up with a friend who has moved there. It was lovely to catch up with her and a couple of other friends in her lovely new home. This afternoon we put up our Advent decorations. The rest up go up next week.laughing  I started the Christmas cards this evening but I am fed now frown

No  real  progress  with  the  slides,  alas  All  set  up  when  the  fone  went  --  Family  Alarm  --  surprised young  ones  paying  a  visit,  & their  parents  sent  a  Warning  Of  Infants  Coming  Alarm  call.  Cannot  complain  when  they  visit,  most  folk  of  my  age  grouse  when  Nobody  comes.yell

A wet miserable day again - but at least the wind has dropped.

Last night there was a truce next door (son and family) between the new pup (Ronnie) and "supposed to be a farm cat" (Scabbers).

You misunderstand Nellie. It's MIL who has the germs and I'm just trying  to avoid catching the little blighters.Mrs WN resigned to having a cold whilst away.frown

Feel very light headed, probably due to having had a haircut by Mrs WN. She said not to worry, it may grow back by Christmas.

Goldie - Looks like they're not exactly going to be sending each other Christmas Cards.

Think  he's  a  bit  on  the  large  side  for  that,  MillieH,  or  could  it  be  he's  just  a great  big  jessie   surprisedwink.

No  I  don't  really  mean  that,  just  typical  bit  of  Sunday lunch  time  humour  chez  A B M .embarassedinnocent  but  the  tabby  bears  a  marked  resemblance  to  sister's  Alfie Cat,  even  to  the  staring  at  the  fire,  just  daring  it  to  drop  a  degree  or  two  cool

The cat seems to have the best spot near the fire though Goldielaughing Lovely pup. Is he a cocker spaniel?  He looks very similar to our son's Jessie.

Blue roan Cocker Spaniel. Ten weeks old. The farm cats are supposed to live  outside (in the barn etc) but manage to sneak inside. Hostilities have calmed down now between pup and cat.
