Delighted  to  hear  that  you  were  fit  enough  to  be  the  Organist  at  the  Service  David,  and  the  'break'  in  the  middle  would  give  you  time  to  get  your  second  wind  if  nothing  else.innocent

Huskypup,  you  really  are  getting  into  the  " Retirement  Mood "  but  can you / will  you  keep  it  up  thro'  the  years  to  come  ?  If  so  could  you  tell  us  the  supplements  required please,  smile.  And  I  really  don't  mean  those from  the  Sunday / Funday  papers  yell

CY,  hope  that  that  was  the  only  "Riveting"  concerned  in  your  stay  laughing

Thanks ABM.  Knee is fine.  My hands are still a problem and it looks like not much progress on that front.  I'm waiting for electrical tests for a clearer indication of the problem.  Sadly, whatever to final diagnosis, I'm not convinced that it will be fixed, so I could well have to live with the problem.  At the moment, I am 'managing' on piano and organ - organ is easier as it is not touch sensitive.  I am managing to cope by finding 'work-arounds'. It's not easy and my playing has obviously suffered.  I'm just making sure that I don't over stretch myself.  Hymn playing at church is not a major problem, but more complex organ pieces are now not going to be possible.  I can manage standard wedding music, but my days of playing anything approaching Widor's Tocatta (or the like) are, alas, probably over!

Thank  you  WN,  right  click  on  picture,  left  click  on  "View picture"  and  it  totally  fills  the  screen  on  my  DGB desk-top  PC surprised.

Sad  to  hear  your  problems  are  continuing  David,  but  I  have  no  doubt  you will  send  the  relevant  request  up  the  chimney  in  a  little  while  wink.

Had  an  appalling  day myself --  the  barbers  was  open  &  dragging  folk  in  off  the  street  surprised  with  the  inevitable  result  --  Brian's  a  good  few  pounds avoirdupois  lighter, { as  well  as  sterling  money-mouth }  Wonder  if  my  GP  will  accept  that  as  a  start  innocent.

Must be deeply frustrating David. When you have a particular gift or skill, in your case music, so hard when you have to rein in what you can do. Best regards, I hope things improve for you. I love to hear someone playing the organ in a church, particularly if it is at full throttle, so uplifting and dramatic.smile

Back to Belle Vue CL, Chester, again yesterday and managed to get set up before a heavy.shower of rain. Much better day day today so walked The Greenway in to Chester and back. Finally decided on our X-Mas site and booked it this evening. Bit more planning to be done to sort out the before and after sites.

Sorry to hear about your problems with your hands David. Hope that it will eventually clear up.

Good to hear that for some at least they are slowly recovering.

Lovely memorial, WN.

OH had her pacemaker replaced today!

No stitches involved! Think the surgeon had a childhood based on Blue Peter as they used glue and sticky backed plastic!!

She is just a bit tired and bruised but in good spirits.

Came across a new memorial in the village of Long Itchington, near Leamington Spa today. It was at the start of a nice 6+ mile walk across countryside and back along the Union canal towpath. The memorial was only completed a month ago. The inscription is particularly moving and I'm trying to include a photo of it. You'll need to enlarge it to read the moving poem. I don't have a resizing app on this very old android laptop so if it doesn't work I'll post it again when we get back home.

In Windows just right click on the image and select "open image in new tab" and it is perfectly readable.

Edit - Just seen Brian's post on same subject, I should scroll down before posting!

Good to hear everything went ok for your OH Robsail. So sorry to read DSB's post, music is so important to you and I hope you can continue to find a way around the problems, fingers crossed the next tests can throw some light on what is happening.

Late night for me, have been meeting some new neighbours and we had quite a merry get together, sore heads on Wednesday which seems to have arrived already...winksurprised
