I hope you are having a really good evening moulesy and raise a lot of money. It's a pity arthritis research isn't a fashionable charity as it is so prevalent and not only amongst the older generation. Shame you don't live this way as I can think of a number of charities that would welcome your quiz master talents.
I hope your OH is feeling a bit better Helen. Glad you are feeling a bit better Bakers2 and hope you soon improve Tammygirl.
Your plans for your 40th next year sound great Wherenext. You and Bakers2 have at least 10 years to go before you catch OH and I up!!

Posted on 09/11/2018 15:21 by brueThanks TDA, I will be on the look out for a stop off before we get to the site, a few years since I've been near the wall, last time it was Housesteads.

Northumberland CC are levying big charges for HW car parks nowadays, we were up in Steel Rigg just for a break couldn’t believe charges! It was Summer though, so might be less busy. The Sill car park is at Once Brewed, you pay for however long you stay, it’s number plate recognition. We used Cawfields car park as well, further West, you could probably not pay there if just having a cuppa. Vindolanda car park isn’t too far from The Sill, also good for MH parking. It’s the best museum by far on the Wall, depends how long you have got. OH says if you only have time for a short visit Cawburgh is good, again has a decent car park.
We never tire of visiting Hadrians Wall. We used to drive up for day at Christmas! Roads are too busy nowadays!

Posted on 08/11/2018 10:56 by Bakers2Beautiful bright and sunny morning. Thanks for the good wishes. Apart from a couple or three hours I spent the day in bed 😲😲 never heard a radio 4 programme all the way through! Up and showered this morning definitely better but not right so just pottering. No idea where it came from or why it hit so hard.
Hope others suffering are feeling brighter.
ABM you're so right about where you pick up germs and bugs. So many folks practice poor hygiene 😤😤.
My mum, 88 and slower these days, has finished her Christmas card writing. She sets herself a target of 5 a day to get through the hundred plus she sends! I bought them all for her. Mine? Naturally I've not thought about them yet 😂.
Goldie I hope you get a birthday treat. Start hinting LOUDLY.
Milliehull hope you get some time off over Christmas. Wish I could have mine altogether here but heyho! But maybe when the kids assume you can't do Christmas isn't so good. After my mum's stroke 8 years ago no one goes for anything other than a cuppa, although she manages very well. Every cloud has a silver lining 😉.
I don't go Christmas shopping only thing I get is the hump! Random shopping for everything these days and that often includes food 😂😂.
Enjoy your day folks. I'm going to sit in the sunny conservatory and read the latest book in the Shardlake series if I can concentrate for long enough 😉.

B2, as much as I like being complimented on my wise old comments I have to give credit where credit is due & point out it was JVB66 who passed the comments about Hygiene !! I was the twerp cracking jokes at my aged sisters expense !!
With respect to David K's comments about Diabetes & Doctors.
I have to admit that having been diagnosed in about 1990 ( never can remember ) I have seen D-nurses twice a year for 6 monthly blood test results and or fairly good check-ups. Since I moved on to Daily insulin I've had similar 6-monthly reviews with my G.P. AS WELL. . To be absolutely blunt they really do seem to care about my health & welfare and I have absolutely NO COMPLAINTS about the N.H.S. Care I get.
P.S. / edit
David if you are otherwise happy with your doc / nurses treatment of you and Margaret then I'd think very very carefully before thinking of changing -- I'm just rising 77 now & I've been with this one practice for 77.5 years ( think about it ! )

Posted on 09/11/2018 14:50 by brueSorry to have missed your quizzes Moulesy, I've often passed the signs to the place you visit on my way to Bristol (if I go the back way.) Arthritis is horribly fashionable in our family so it is indeed a worthy cause, hope the final quiz raises a good amount.

Posted on 09/11/2018 18:31 by WherenextThanks Moulsey and TG but we know the area well and have visited Cadaques and even driven to Coulliere in France along the coast. We stay at Camping Salata sometimes or Les Medes down in L'Estartit. Haven't decided yet. L'Amfora opens tootlate for our stay. CMC overseas section booked the ferry today for early March. Saving? About £150+. Quite a wonderful deal. £200 return ferry including caravan Portsmouth to Caen! Will return home in time for a late May through to early July tour around the Dales and some of East Yorkshire.
Cheered me up no end after yesterday's trip to see the kidney consultant. (Good luck, BTW, Millie for Mr.H).

Hi Nellie. Are you at Shrewsbury now? You haven't jinxed me just yet.
Results yesterday weren't great but it is what it is.
Really looking forward to a few days meandering with Mrs WN. Sorry we won't be around when you pass close by. When do you actually get home?

We are more than happy where we are. It was just an invitation for you you to join us if you would prefer the nurse to the doctor

Posted on 09/11/2018 14:58 by WherenextYes, very well done Mr.M. Take a bow because you deserve it.
Spent some of the morning preparing the caravan for our few days away in Warwick from Sunday. This afternoon spent planning a trip to Roses area of Spain in early spring next year. We really couldn't find anywhere we wanted to be to commemorate our Ruby in March and both came up with a Spring break watching bird migration, cycling and walking in the hills in that part of the world so we should enjoy it.
Must dash CMC just ringing back with prices.

Thanks folks for the good wishes for Trevor, he's on the mend and starting to feel better.
Moulesy well done with the quizzes, hope the last one raised lots of money.
Wherenext glad your trip plans are sorted, and hope you enjoy Warwick too. Seems people are getting on with making plans for next year, we've only managed to sort one long weekend so far. Can't get holiday dates confirmed at work until the new year either. Mind you we have got a couple of weekends away this year to go yet.
Had some really heavy rain overnight and gusty winds, this morning however is bright and sunny, no plans will see how OH feels.
