Lovely bright and sunny day but it is getting colder Brrrr!
Went to see Mum this morning for her birthday, I think she enjoyed herself. Its hard to tell some days but she was cheerful and very chatty, kept asking 'who's' birthday was it. Then was surprised when we said yours, Oh! how old am I she now has a new soft cuddly toy to chat to, she loves all her 'pets'
On return we both got down to work, I did one more bed in the back garden, while OH started to wash the caravan. Once I'd finished in the garden I gave him a hand to finish off, as it was getting a bit cold.
No snow yet with a bit of luck it will just stay on the hills but I will have to go our and cover one of my new bushes as I think its a bit delicate and I don't want the frost to catch it.
Have a good weekend folks.

We are away in the van at the moment just local 40 min drive from home. We arrived on site ar 6pm and couldn't be bothered cooking so we went to the local chippy for a take-away. Its very cold outside here tonight but nice and cosey in the van. Not sure what we are doing tomorrow just relaxing hopefully.

Francis same here. Just 30 mins from home on a lovely farm CL. Planning a lazy day tomorrow and going sloe picking on the farm. We'll be making sloe gin and sloe white rum. The white rum went down better last year than the gin, so more rum has been requested. Also going to a local tapas restaurant on Sunday. The weather can do what it's likes as we're cosy in the van. 😊

Sunny at times interspersed with heavy showers coming off Dartmoor. Shopping at Lidl, Kingsteighton before a walk up on Little Haddon common, and a short visit to Trago Mills.....more bulbs for the garden and paint for home. I guess I know what I'll be doing before we set off again on our X-Mas/New Year trip.

I've been having bulb problems of my own. The ruddy cover won't come off the one in the oven. I think it's cross threaded but it's at an angle that you can't get anything arojnd the back of it and the bulb has blown. Must have wasted an hour or two of the day on it.
Any suggestions folks? Molegrips will smash the cover but won't remove the fastening. Don't want use WD40 in an oven! Grrr.

WN, pretend your practising for Christmas Day & give it a damned good basting !!
{ Think about it, think about it == THEN you'll see the light }
{ OR, you could invite the local Sewing Circle round to have a go -- 'cos many hands make light work }
OK OK I'll get me coat on .............

{ Incidentally the first point was / is quite logical -- heat the oven after smearing a little olive oil or similar, then -- carefully & with arms protected try to remove the screw or bolt WHILE STILL HOT -- 1/4 turn tighter to break the seal then unscrew !! }
