Waste of Resources

Couple of weeks ago my GP sent a letter to the hospital for consultant appointment for me.  Yesterday I got a letter from NHS appointment line telling me to log on and confirm an appointment, what I thought, well never mind I'll  follow the letter including my going to the doctors surgery for a password.  So finally got logged in and decided on a date and time, heres the best bit, when I pressed confirm the following message appeared Please do not attend this appointment, what!!! apparently they run a ghost system and the hospital will contact me later to make an appointment.  Whatever happened to the system where the consultants secretary got the referrals and then called you back with an appointment. If this is progress lets get back to paper and pencils
