Waking up with a tune in my head.

Does anybody else wake up in the morning with an obscure tune or song going around their head , you don't know what triggered off and it won't go away during the rest of the day? Recent ones for me have been "I've got a lovely bunch of coconuts", "Wild Thing" by the Troggs and "Baba O'Riley" by the Who. Yesterday I only had the tune but I couldn't remember any words or the title. It almost drove me around the twist but eventually it came "You can never stop me loving you" by Kenny Lynch. I song I haven't even thought about for 50 years. The mind is a baffling/wonderful thing.

Talking with a friend last week, when we were allowed to meet 😉, said he often wakes up with a song in his head. Don't know if it stays all day. It could be anything including hymns in his case.

Yes our minds are wonderful things - just wish mine would shut out the current emergency 😉.

The brain is a wonderful thing. It switches on the instant that we wake up and doesn't switch off until we reach the office ...

Its strange but I woke up in the middle of the night on Saturday with the Kenny Rodgers Song 'daytime Friends -  Nightime lovers' in my head and when I woke up switched on the news he had sadly died. Strange

Don't tend to wake up with a tune in my head but random thoughts can sometimes create the same effect. Only yesterday I was thinking of the Ballet "La Fille mal gardée." and I couldn't get the tune that accompanies the Clog Dance out of my head!!!

What really irritates me is when Mrs WN wakes up and sings the earworm in her head and then I'M stuck with it all day long and she gets rid of it. yell

I found a film clip of Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis, where they were singing the song “Amore”.  At first my OH found it funny and laughed, then later said that she could not get the song out of her head.  A couple of days later I played it again - WRONG CHOICE, and live with the threat of wearing my iPad in an uncomfortable situation if I do it again!!!
